Cataloochee Ranch specializes in trail, pleasure, and show Peruvian horses.

Welcome to the Rocky Mountains and Cataloochee Ranch. We are located at the base of 39 Mile Mountain just outside of Guffey, Colorado. Our 430 acre ranch has state of the art facilities for raising Show and pleasure Peruvian Paso horses. The 9,600 square foot indoor riding arena permits year round training. The high elevation surroundings enhance the development of the Peruvian Horse by building strong bodies climbing hills similar to those of its native Peru.

Every purebred Peruvian horse, without exception, inherits the gait which is the trademark of the breed. The result is the smoothest ride in the equine kingdom. We are pleased that the work we do at Cataloochee Ranch pays off at Horse Shows all across the country. The versatility of the Peruvian Horse is exemplified through performance, trail, sidesaddle, musical exercise, and showmanship classes.

Additionally, we specialize in training Peruvian horses for trail and pleasure. We personally take them through the paces of technical forest riding, moving cattle, crossing water, and expose the horse to all kinds of wildlife and things they would encounter on the trail. We take the "scary" out of pleasure riding.
